It’s not uncommon to have a few heart-in-mouth moments during the thousands of hours you spend driving in your lifetime. But, I doubt there’ll be many involving a tiny kitten stranded in the middle of an extremely busy intersection!
Fortunately, this time around there was a heroic biker on hand to grab the tiny feline before it was too late and all of the action was caught on her helmet cam.
At the beginning of the video, everything seems pretty normal. The biker’s complaining about the state of traffic and the slow moving vehicles in front.
“Jesus Christ, come on” she mutters to herself whilst waiting for the lights to change.
Then all of a sudden, she spots a tiny kitten scuttling about in the middle of the road, terrified and lost.
“Oh my god! Stop! Stop!” she yells as oblivious drivers narrowly miss flattening the tiny infant.
Bravely, the biker veers into the middle of the road, pleading with cars driving towards her to stop.
Fortunately, the kitten doesn’t run away and allows the biker to pick it up. It was probably so frozen in panic that it had no idea where to go anyway.
The woman, having hopped off of her bike at this point, runs to the side of the road and places the tiny orange cat into the arms of a concerned spectator exclaiming “I don’t know who she belongs to!”
She then runs back into the road to move her parked bike from the middle of an extremely busy junction and away from oncoming traffic.
The biker posted:
“This is the original video, there have been a lot of people lately (like… a lot) thinking I stole this video from someone, or reposted it from Inside Edition. Well, sorry. This is the original. Inside Edition bought usage of the video after they interviewed me at my house. As for any other channels that have this video posted, I don’t know what to tell you. Check out the other videos of Skidmark I posted if you need some kind of proof.”
“To clarify, again, the red car absolutely, 100% did NOT throw the kitten out of the car. It is very hard to see in this video, but on my computer it is very clear, Skids came from underneath the vehicle.”
She’s referring to the beginning of the video in which the cat suddenly appears as a red car drives past. If you watch closely, it seems as if the cat has fallen or been thrown from the car but the biker is adamant that is not the case.
“He was probably up there for warmth. So please, PLEASE! Do not initiate a witch hunt – the red car is NOT at fault here!”
“Still shaking! Thank you to the mystery lady that helped and all the people that paid attention and stopped, it was very appreciated. Kitten turned out to be a he, and is resting safely now.”
And thank goodness!
Well done to this alert woman for taking matters into her own hands in order to save the life of an innocent animal!
