Couple Find 23-Year-Old Note From Previous Owners In Their Bathroom

A California couple has discovered a message from the previous owners of the house while redecorating their bathroom, the big surprise being that said old owners left the note 23 years earlier.

Alex and Jess Monney, from San Jose, were having their bathroom redecorated when the contractor they hired for the job found the hidden message. Discovered behind the walls were two photographs, along with some accompanying notes scrawled onto the wall in marker pen.

The first photograph, of a middle-aged, distinctly 90s-styled couple, was accompanied by a speech bubble containing the words: “Hi! We’re the Shinsekis! We remodeled this bathroom summer 1995. If you’re reading this, that means you’re remodeling the bathroom again. What’s wrong with the way we did it?!?!?”

The second photograph depicts a pet rabbit, from whose mouth emanates the words: “Hi! I’m Cassie the bunny rabbit! I lived here too! (I’m potty trained!)”

Currently the good samaritans of the internet are attempting to track down the Shinsekis, who left the time capsules for the Monneys to find more than two decades ago. The Monneys, meanwhile, have said they plan to now leave a message of their own hidden in the renovated bathroom walls.
