Disney has finally revealed more details of it’s new Toy Story Land which is expected to be opened next summer at Disney Hollywood Studios. With giant Woddys and Jenga Sets all around the new site guests can expect to feel as small as a toy.
Pixar’s original film, Toy Story, was released all the way back in 1995. Taking place in a world where toys are alive, although pretending not to be around humans, it follows the relationship between cowboy doll Woody (voiced by Tom Hanks) and spaceman action figure Buzz Lightyear (voiced by Tim Allen) as they rival for affection from their owner Andy. When Woody pushes Buzz out a window he has to go on a rescue mission to save him and then reunite the two with Andy.
As visitors enter the park they will be greeted by a giant Woody. Further, into the park film favorite Rex and Jesse from the sequel can also be found. Rex can be seen looking over the entire site from way up on top of a Jenga tower.
There will also be a number of trusty green army men looking out for any sign of Andy returning.
During the new ABC Disney Christmas special, Hollywood Studio bosses gave, even more, details about the new attraction. The Main ride will be the Slinky Dog Dash roller coaster, which travels all over the park and looks as if it was made by Andy himself as an epic roller coaster for the slinky dog.
Not wanting to miss out a pizza plant reference, which is in every Pixar movie, there will be Alien Swirling Saucers, made to look like a toy from the fictional pizza place.It’s an arcade area which the Aliens attempting to capture your rocket vehicle with the famous “The Claw” which playful space electronica music plays.
Another ride, which is only rumored at this point is a Buzz Lightyear rocket ride, although no details have yet been released.
Food will also be available at Woody’s Lunch Box which is designed to look like Andy’s lunch box and thermos have been used to create a walk up, fast food joint that will serve classic American food and soda floats.
It won’t just be Florida having all the fun. Disneyland in California will also be getting a new area called Pixar Pier where guests can discover new neighborhoods with many beloved characters from ‘The Incredibles’ and ‘Toy Story’.
