She’s at it again – Dr. Sandra Lee, more commonly and aptly known as Dr. Pimple Popper, takes on a “percystent” cheek cyst that has been on this patient’s face since she was a child.Dr. Pimple Popper wanted to make sure that the cut was as small as it could possibly be, because of the location of the cyst. A massive scar on your face is hardly ideal, after all. So, instead of attempting to get the cyst out as one whole thing, she squeezes and squeezes at it until gradually all of that gross (and yet strangely satisfying?) goo is gone for good.
The caption of the video tells us that this ‘gooey’ stuff found inside epidermoid cysts is actually called “macerated keratin” or, more simply, “wet skin cells”. And as this sucker is pretty old, all of these skin cells have been growing in number for quite a while, which is what makes it so huge.
Not gross enough for you? The caption also describes the consistency of the wet skin cells as “cheesy”, and apparently it can smell really bad. Ew. I don’t think I even want to know…
Luckily, though, these cysts come with no symptoms and people only go to get them removed because they don’t like the look of the lumps. And, well, who would want one of these things just hanging around? Especially when they can get so huge!
“When I was in high school, it was the size of an M&M,” we’re told by the patient. By now, it’s about the size you’d expect a gobstopper to be – but obviously not one you’d ever consider putting in your mouth.
If you’re brave enough to give this a watch, let us know in the comments if the satisfying aspect of the video outweighs how gross it sounds…!
