EastEnders just keeps getting more and more chaotic. After Grant Mitchell’s impression of Liam Neeson, which featured on Monday nights episode, fans of the show are starting to become more and more confused by Loop holes in Ben Mitchell’s storyline.
Ben and Jay are currently being kidnapped by a gang of thugs. However last night Jay and Ben made a break for it. Of course they didn’t make it far, and they were soon caught up by the gang of thugs.
While the gang are threatening the pair Ben says to them ‘ So long as I suddenly go deaf, blind and stupid so far as you lot are concerned?’
If you only just started to watch the show you wouldn’t think there was anything wrong with that line. However long time watchers of the show pointed out that Ben was actually deaf. He suffered from meningitis as a child and ended up going deaf. However the show has also said in the past that Ben is half deaf, and now it sounds as if he’s not deaf at all!
Erm, isn't Ben already deaf? #EastEnders

Some people have just suggested that Ben was being sarcastic, or that the gang of thugs just didn’t know Ben was deaf… Though we’re not convinced.
It was just a phrase Ben was using he knows he is deaf as do all of us s for his glasses not breaking that's another thing lol #eastenders

Others were also confused by Ben Mitchell’s glasses. Why don’t they ever break?
Ben Mitchell in #EastEnders gets a beating but miraculously his glasses stay totally intact ?? no wonder I hate the programme
