Hanson Perform ‘MMMBop’ 20 Years Later, And They Look And Sound AMAZING

There’s one song, perhaps more than any other song ever written, that got inside our head the first time we heard it and refused to go away. Whether we liked it or not, we couldn’t deny that it was about as catchy as a tune could get, and even now, 20 years later, we can guarantee that you will still be able to sing along to it like you heard it for the first time last week…

The song we are of course referring to is ‘MMMBop’ by Hanson, which was released in 1997 and reached number one in 27 countries, including the United States, the United Kingdom, Germany, Australia and Mexico…

Despite containing lyrics that make absolutely no sense whatsoever (“Mmmbop, ba duba dop, Ba du bop, ba duba dop”), the song is one of the most well known songs of the 90s, and helped Hanson to 3 Grammy nominations, 16 million record sales worldwide, and (believe it or not) a total of 8 top 40 singles in the UK. If you thought they were a one hit wonder then you’d be very wrong.

Hanson consist of 3 brothers called Isaac, Taylor and Zac, they originated from Oklahoma in United States, and they were as cute as a button. So it was with great delight that we learned that Hanson had performed ‘MMMBop’ 20 years after it was released, because we were desperate to see one, how well they performed it with voices that had broken, and two, what on earth they looked like these days!

As you will see from the acoustic performance below, we were delighted on both fronts. Their vocals and harmonies are spot on, probably even better than they were 20 years ago, and they all look absolutely amazing!

What do you make of the performance? Were you a fan of Hanson back in the 90s?

Be sure to share this post with your Hanson loving friends and family so they too can share in some lovely ‘MMMBop’ nostalgia that will have them tapping their toes to this catch tune once again.
