Honey G’s mum, Yvonne, has spoken out after Professor Green criticised her daughter on live television.
Supportive mum Yvonne Gilford has finally commented on the endless criticism her daughter has been facing. For weeks, viewers have been questioning whether or not rapper Honey G is a joke act, or if she’s for real.
On Sunday, Professor Green accused the woman from north Weezey (Watford) of “taking the right mickey out of rap.”

For Yvonne, this was the last straw. She has asked, “Leave my daughter alone and let the real judges, the public, have their say.”
“It’s all very unkind and we can’t believe a family member, no idea who it is, would try and jump on the bandwagon and try and put down Honey on top of these so called stars. We’ve actually had enough of all this!”
She went on to describe her daughter as “fearless” and “competitive”, assuring critics that Honey G is genuinely out to win the X Factor. And her mum thinks she might be in with a chance of going all the way, too!

“Love her or hate her, and we love her, her music isn’t to everyone’s taste, she says she’s not ‘everyone’s cup of tea’ but, yeah, the judges have warmed to her and we think the public have too!”

Fair play to you, Yvonne, for getting your mama bear claws out!
