Remember “Blazin’ Squad” From 2001? Here’s What They Look Like In 2017

BLAZIN Squad were a chart topping boy band back in 2002.  With their hit Crossroads they became a big hit with many a student and young girl who ad their poster on the wall.

The 10 member band had seven hits enter the Top 10 before one by one they slowly disappeared from the spotlight. As you may be aware now one is back with a vengeance on Love Island.

Here is what the guys from the band look like nowadays.

1. Freek (Oliver Georgiou)

A couple of years after Blazin’ Squad split, Oliver found a career in corporate banking. He’s currently based between London and Essex and also is the manager to other musicians.

2. Kenzie (James MacKenzie)

Today, Kenzie travels between London and New York as a DJ and club night promoter. He’s also celebrity personal trainer – he’s even worked with Mark Wright from TOWIE. Before that, he had his own line of underwear!

3. Plat’num, previously Rocky B (Marcel Sommerville)

Marcel produced an independent house and electronic music label, which he’s also the founder of. It’s called Dmonde and is based in east London. He hasn’t lost touch with his previous bandmates and still performs with them occasionally. Also, he works for a music licensing agency as an accounts manager.

Twelve years on from his boy band adventure, Marcel Sommerville is taking part in the 2017 series of Love Island.

4. Melo-d (Chris McKeckney)

Chris is now recording solo music and also performs occasionally with his former bandmates. However, in the years since Blazin’ Squad disbanded, he’s also worked as a window fitter and appeared on a 2015 Blazin’ Squad reunion tour.

5. Strider (Mustafa Omer)

The producing and writing partnership MoJam was formed by Mustafa and previous bandmate Flava. Since then, they’ve written songs for artists like Naughty Boy, Professor Green, Emeli Sandé and Leona Lewis.

6. Reepa (Stuart Baker)

Stuart is currently a media manager at the BBC and, like some of the others, still performs with former members of Blazin’ Squad.

7. Flava (James Murray)

James works with his former bandmate Mustafa as a writer and producer for MoJam.

8. Spike-e (Sam Foulkes)

Sam is currently working in the import/export industry, and also performs with some of his fellow former bandmates from time to time.

9. Krazy (Lee Bailey)

Since Blazin’ Squad, Lee has performed as The Lee Bailey Project, a solo act. Before that, he was also a part of the 2015 Blazin’ Squad reunion tour.
