You might remember Walt from the ABC series Lost, he was one of the youngest characters to be cast away on the island.
He, alongside his dad Michael Dawson, appeared in the pilot episode back in 2004! 10-year-old Walt was played by a young Malcolm David Kelley, and his father was played by Harold Perrineau.
The series ran for six seasons, right up until 2010, and followed the survivors of a plane crash. The characters had been on their way from Sydney to Los Angeles before landing on the mysterious tropical island.
The show included flashbacks to the characters’ lives before the crash, providing back story (mostly to the main characters, Jack, Kate, Sawyer and Hurley).
Malcolm impressed the Lost team with his 2002 performance in Antwone Fisher, which played a part in him being offered the role of Walt.
In the show, Walt had a strained relationship with his dad, having been estranged from him until his mom died from a rare blood disorder. The show saw them trying to create a good relationship with each other.
Walt made friends with some of the other characters, including John Locke. But at one point, he is kidnapped by ‘the others’ until his dad manages to make a deal in exchange for their freedom, ultimately leading to the pair leaving the island at the end of season two.
Since leaving the show, Malcolm went on to appear in You’ve Got Served in 2004, and to play Finn, the lead role in TeenNick’s Gigantic in 2010, and he’s really grown up!
