The ‘Old Man’ from TV’s Pawn Stars, Richard Harrison, has reportedly cut one of his sons from his will.
According to a report published by The Blast on Tuesday, the lovable curmudgeon and family patriarch purposely excluded his son Christopher from the will. Documents obtained by the press also show that his famous son Rick, who runs the World Famous Gold & Silver Pawn Shop, is the executor of Richard’s estate.
As of yet, it’s unclear why Christopher was removed from the will.
However, we do know how the exclusion was worded:
‘I would like to express my love and affection for Christopher Keith Harrison; however for purposes of this Will, I have intentionally and with full knowledge failed to provide for him and his issue,’ the document stated.
Rick has since released a statement to Fox News regarding the issue: ‘The family had previously discussed this information and it is a private matter.’
Fans of the series were devastated to learn that Richard had passed away on June 25th after a lengthy battle with Parkinson’s disease. The Old Man’s appearances on Pawn Stars had become less and less frequent due to his condition and fans had barely seen him on-camera during the last season.
Rumour has it that Richard had initially named his wife and all three of his sons as beneficiaries.
However, in 2017 the document was amended and Richard signed an updated will which specifically cut out Christopher from inheriting any of his estate.
Richard’s passing at the age of 77 was officially confirmed by his son Rick via a touching Instagram post.
Richard Benjamin ‘The Old Man’ Harrison passed away this morning surrounded by those he loved. He will be tremendously missed by our family, the team at Gold & Silver Pawn and his many fans the world over. He was my hero and I was fortunate to get a very cool ‘Old Man’ as my dad. That I got to share him with so many others and they got to see what a great family man he was is something I am grateful to have experienced with him. He lived a very full life and through the History television show ‘Pawn Stars’ touched the lives of people all over, teaching them the value of loving your family, hard work and humor. We appreciate everyone’s thoughts and prayers and ask that we are provided some privacy at this time.
