Scarlett Moffatt is reportedly being lined-up to host the Channel 4 version of the Great British Bake Off.
The 26-year-old is apparently first choice for producers after her win on I’m a Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here! with a source telling the Daily Mirror: “Scarlett is now a serious contender – she opened a lot of eyes to her potential on I’m A Celebrity.
“She is young, very funny and just the type of presenter Channel 4 are looking for to front their version of the show.”
And according to the newspaper, other potential co-hosts include Sarah Millican, Davina McCall, Sandi Toksvig and Victoria Coren Mitchell.
The new host or hosts will star alongside judge Paul Hollywood, the only remaining panel member from the original BBC line-up that included Mary Berry, Sue Perkins and Mel Giedroyc. The three cast members famously opted to remain loyal to the BBC when the show was bought out by C4 earlier this year in a multi-million pound deal.
Scarlett is tipped to make millions from her recent reality show success, with daytime TV staples Loose Women and This Morning said to be in a bidding war over the new Queen of the Jungle.
The news of her potential new GBBO role comes as the Geordie announced she is leaving her current job as a radio presenter to focus on her budding TV career. The former Gogglebox star hosted the breakfast show for Capital North East, with station bosses sharing the news of her departure on social media earlier today.
