Motherhood; It’s supposedly one of life’s greatest blessings… if not the single greatest. Now I’m not saying that it isn’t, oh no, far from that… all I’m saying is, that for a supposed “blessing”, it can also be a heck of a lot of freakin’ work. Rewarding? Yes. But difficult? Oh, incredibly so.
And do you know what makes it worse? The PRESSURE. And if you happen to be a Mom you’ll know exactly what pressure I’m talking about – The Perfect Mom Pressure. Heaven forbid that you ever allow a smile to slip from your face for 0.5 seconds, or that you ever leave your house looking tired as heck, or you even DARE to utter the words “My kid was being a total as*hole last night.” Heck no… you better smile, look well rested and only sing your precious little angels praises all day every day 7 days a week otherwise you are FAILING AS A MOTHER.
And it doesn’t matter who you are, either… even celebrity mothers feel the Perfect Mome pressure day in and day out… in fact, they may even feel it more so than us because, well, let’s face it, they can’t even seem to sneeze in the privacy of their own homes without the entire world hearing about it 0.5 minutes later from the damn press.
For example, remember a few months ago when internet users attacked Khloe Kardashian for actually editing a photo of her 5-month-old baby girl?? Seriously… the pressure is real that Moms are actually out here photoshopping their newborn babies. Also, let’s be honest, the Kardashians are absolute trash so it’s also really not surprising they edit their children.
ANYWAYYYY, luckily, there is a movement brewing among those celebrity moms out there and these fabulous women are no longer supporting this pressure and actually choose to be sincere when it comes to talking about being a Mom (I know, what a WILD concept!).
Below is a list containing 12 of these inspirational celebrity Moms who have decided to give up the illusions and just be honest with their fans instead. These women are 100% not afraid to show that yes, they can be tired, they can wear no makeup and they are most certainly not living up to fashion standards while still managing to remain extremely happy (CRAZY!)
SO scroll down and prepare to feel not only inspired but more importantly so… slightly less pressured! Happy days!
12. Olivia Wilde
We all know the ever-so fierce star of House M.D. TV series, but did you know that she has two kids!? Yep, that’s right – she is the proud momma of a son named Otis Alexander and a daughter named Daisy Josephine.
Olivia happily reveals to her huge Instagram following exactly how a typical mother usually looks after spending one long day with her young children, and I LOVE IT!
“I call this hairstyle, ’Keep the kid alive’. Products you’ll need: sweat, string cheese, diaper rash cream, a chewed up crayon, snot, and an enthusiastic spritz of panic.”
I hear it’s the totally IN hairstyle among all the Moms these days. So stylish yet manageable, the perfect combination!
11. Jessica Alba
Jessica Alba has an even fuller plate in her home, as she’s currently a mother to 3 genetically-gifted young children; her daughters are just 11 and 8 years old whereas her youngest child – her son – is just 2 years old… what an age difference eh!)
But just get a load of those happy, smiling faces! Such a beautiful family.
When asked about the joys of being a mother, Alba laughs effortlessly and says, “You realize that you’ve become a mother when you understand that you’ll never get enough sleep again.”
10. Hilary Duff
I don’t know about you, but for me, it’s still super weird to think that Lizzie McGuire (aka, Hillary Duff) is now a mother of two. A MOTHER! OF TWO! Lord… I am so, so old.
Anyway, Hillary gave birth to her second child, a daughter, pretty recently in 2018.

I’ve been wondering for a long time if I would ever share this video as it is extremely personal…. it was so absolutely lovely and rewarding(and shocking) that after giving birth to my baby girl we hugged …for the first time, In my mind I like to believe that she was saying good job mom. Go team go. We did it. Together. Matt provided such a safe calm strength, my mommy and sissy were there to cheer me on, and of course my birth angels to make sure all was well and big brother (downstairs deep in legos). I cannot believe this day was only 5 months ago!! It seems like B has been here with us all along. The time is already going so fast..she tried avocado yesterday! Anyway… feeling blessed for this full hectic life and all the people in it. Happy 5 months Banks (oh and thanks for quitting colic) that was a doozy ( @rebeccacoursey_photosandfilm )
To honor the occasion, she posted the incredible moment on her Instagram page via a truly heartwarming video which shows the first incredible few minutes of her new daughters life. No glamour whatsoever… just complete and utter sincerity and happiness and of course, the miracle of life.
9. Alyssa Milano
Alyssa, who you may know as one of the stars of Charmed, has 2 kids herself: her son Milo, who is 8 years old and her daughter Elizabella (which is a completely BEAUTIFUL name, by the way), who is 5 years old.
Alyssa’s story is very, very important.
The actress actually suffered a miscarriage back in 2009, and as if that wasn’t upsetting enough, she then suffered through postpartum depression after she gave birth to her son Milo. Fortunately for us, and the rest of the women all across the globe, was brave enough to talk about the difficult topic of her own experiences in order to help to support millions of other women who may feel like they’re suffering alone.
8. Reese Witherspoon
Well, ladies, if you don’t look at this image and immediately related to it, then chances are, you are not a mother. I mean, this is literally how I feel on the inside right now.
“How do I do it all with 3 kids and a full-time job? This is how,” explains Witherspoon. Can I hear it for naps please ladies!?
However, Witherspoon definitely knows how to be happy and enjoy motherhood as well, even when she isn’t running on 8 full hours of sleep! And just check out how effortless she makes it look!
7. Chrissy Teigen
And here we have not only one of my favorite celebrity Moms, but also one of my favorite celebrities in general – the fabulous, ever-so-hilarious, always insanely honest Chrissy Teigen. And in 2018, Chrissy Teigen and her equally amazing husband John Legend became parents for the second time.
It’s clear to see from her hilarious posts of both Twitter and Instagram that the model truly enjoys being a mom and really doesn’t see any reason whatsoever to edit her photos if they’re amazing just as they are… which, let’s be honest, they ARE!
6. Hilaria Baldwin
Now you see THIS is how the mother who has many young children take a selfie. Usually, it needs to be done during a 0.5 second period before they start running off in 5 different directions all at the same time.
The Instagram page of the wife of Alec Baldwin and yoga instructor, Hilaria Baldwin, is probably the best reminder that being a celebrity doesn’t mean anything when it comes to happiness, because happiness always looks the same… and it always looks like this.
5. Robyn Lawley
This is the Australian model with her adorable little daughter, Ripley.
Lawly is 100% sure that “the best part of having a kid is getting to be a kid again with her daughter.” and I 100% agree with her. Having children may make you go prematurely grey… but it also makes you feel forever young on the inside!
4. Zoe Saldana
We all know Gamora, right? Well, who would have thought she would be so maternal…
Zoe Saldana amazingly has 3 children; Her twins Cy and Bowie, and of course her youngest, Zen… which FYI is one of the coolest names I’ve ever heard for a child ever.
And as you can clearly see, their celebrity mom is truly, truly proud of them all.
3. Drew Barrymore
I have always, always, ALWAYS had a huge girl-crush on Drew Barrymore. There isn’t one film of hers I haven’t liked, and she’s just one of those celebrity women you can always count on keeping it real. Drew also has 2 children of her very own.

@seedlingsgroup and one of my besties @aliza118 helped remind me to leave love notes and make banana art to leave in olives lunch box! A TGIF for my girl to open and see that I am with her always! Thanks Aunty Aliza! Great call! And a great way to end the week. #camplunch
Not only is she fabulous on screen, but off screen, she’s even more so. Barrymore urges women to not beat themselves up for not having a perfect body, but instead just enjoy motherhood! Which sadly is so much easier said than done.
“We live in a society where it’s common to say things like, ’Wow, how amazing she looks only 2 weeks after giving birth.’ I don’t want to be a part of it, it’s hell. I never wanted to turn heads when I came to the beach. I have a completely different body type. I just want to feel my body better and love myself,” says Barrymore.
Another favorite lady of mine is Pink and she’s the mother of 2 cool-a*s children.
After giving birth to her son, who was her second child, the singer reportedly weighed 130lb (73kg) and her height was 5’3″ (160 cm). However, she did not feel like she needed to lose the weight, which is too damn freakin’ right! She also admitted that she felt herself and furthermore advises all mothers to just forget about all the damn beauty standards society imposes on us all.
1. Liv Tyler
And last but by no means least, the daughter of Steven Tyler and Elven queen herself, Liv Tyler. She and her husband David have 4 (yep, FOUR!) children together.
Without sugar coating anything, the actress admits that it truly is difficult to be a mother of 4… heck, I find it freakin’ difficult to be the mother on one sometimes! But it has always been her dream to have a big ole’ family – and gosh, don’t they make the most beautiful children!?
