Tom Hardy is now the bookies favourite to be the next James Bond and everyone is going crazy about it.
The new James Bond film isn’t due to be released until late next year, but as that’s Daniel Craig’s final film as 007, rumours have it that Hardy is about to take over.
James Norton, who’s known for his great acting in BBC dramas such as McMafia and Happy Valley was tipped to become the new James Bond as fans we’re left angered last December.
Fans we’re hoping that the new Bond wouldn’t be the usual middle class spy, but the 32 year old actor was branded as being that guy although he had the handsome and charming nature to play the new 007.
However, fans should be now happy as Hardy is a little rough round the edges and is not your typical middle class gent.
According to Betway, since the finale of Norton’s show McMafia, Hardy has beaten Norton to number one spot as James Norton’s odds drifted from 2/1 to 5/2.
Betway believe it’s now a race between the two gents for a place as Bond as Hardy’s odds have crept up to 3/1, which see’s him getting closer to driving an Aston Martin and inheriting Craig’s tuxedo.
Betway’s Alan Alger said:
“Future Bonds are being judged on their current performances and that’s left McMafia star James Norton very unpopular in the betting over the past 24 hours.
McMafia’s finale has been dubbed anticlimactic by a host of critics and with Norton at the forefront we’ve pushed him out to 5/2 from 2/1.
The money has come back in for Tom Hardy since Sunday night and he’s now a big fancy to be named the next 007 at just 9/4.”
Idris Elba and Tom Hiddleston follow behind Hardy and Norton, as they both currently stand at 6/1 while Aidan Turner is fancied at 7/1 for playing Bond.
Due to Hardy being really busy with work recently, how true are the rumours and will Hardy get the chance?
Even though, he’d make a fantastic Bond and has great characteristics needed to play the agent.
Hardy’s still filming Venom, in which Ruben Fleischer is director of the violent comic book creation.
The film Venom is going under Sony Pictures and is not connected to Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Venom is giving the film Deadpool a run for it’s money as it’s a film that’s R rated full of blood, teeth and violence.
Hardy is playing the lead role of Eddie Brock, who becomes bonded with an alien symbiote and works as a journalist.

When Hardy’s finished filming Venom, he’s then going onto film Mad Max: The Wasteland, as well as War Party, which is an adventure film about Navy Seals. He’s also going on to film Fonzo, in which he take’s on the role of Al Capone.
Although Bond is a few years off from being filmed, the 007 fans could now be onto some good news.
