Do you know what tune was number one on your 14th birthday?
At first you might be tempted to respond ‘Who cares’, but Twitter user @Swank0cean has recently put forward an intriguing theory about the relationship between the two things.
I’ve just read that apparently the song that was number 1 on your 14th birthday defines your life

Now thousands of people on social media have been posting the soundtrack to their lives on Twitter and some of the results are hilarious. One user responded with ‘Unpretty’ by TLC, whilst another was seriously unimpressed that Will Smith’s ‘Wild Wild West’ was their number one.
Rather than having to trawl the internet, there’s also a really easy way to find out – go to this website and simply type in the date of your 14th birthday! Then you’ll have the answer to the track that has defined your life. You can also look and see what the number one in the US was at the same time, which is particularly handy if you’re not too pleased with your UK option.
Twitter user @ThomedySci has a slightly more alternative theory that you may also want to check out…
I just read that apparently the song that was number 14 on your 1st birthday will ruin your life. Humm. Interesting.

In this case, one Twitter user’s song was – rather worryingly – ‘Achy Breaky Heart’ by Billy Ray Cyrus. There might be some turbulent times ahead in the love department!
In any case, the original theory is a fun way to reminisce about your teenage years and the songs that defined them. We’re quite fond of our own classic tune, which was Peter Kay’s Comic Relief version of Tony Christie’s ‘Is This The Way to Amarillo’!
Happy song-hunting everyone and good luck!
