15 Useful Tricks You Didn’t Know Your iPhone Could Do

It’s true that iPhones can do an impressive amount of things – but you still might not be aware of all of them. Apple designers and engineers may strive to create an amazingly user-friendly device, but sometimes they fall a bit short on telling their customers exactly what their products are capable of.

Did you know your iPhone could do these things?

1. Clear up your RAM and increase the running speed of your iPhone

You can do this by holding down the power button until the “slide to power off” screen comes up. Then simply hold down the home button: you’ll see the screen go blank, your home screen will appear again, and voila!

2. Clear the cache and increase your iPhone’s speed even more

You can also try clearing the cache if clearing the RAM just didn’t cut it. To do this, tap any one of the icons at the bottom of the App Store, Music, Podcasts, Phone, or Game Center apps 10 times.

9. Never suffer bad Wi-Fi

There’s nothing more irritating than a sluggish connection. Go to Settings > Mobile Data and turn on Wi-Fi Assist. It’ll use mobile data to give your connection a boost when the connectivity is bad.

10. Use Low Power Mode and Night Shift simultaneously

You can work around Night Shift not working at the the same time as Low Power Mode by asking Siri to do it. Activate Low Power Mode by going to Settings > Battery, then ask Siri to enable Night Shift. She’ll tell you that you have to turn off Low Power Mode to enable Night Shift, but tell her to do it anyway. Then, press the sleep button before Siri confirms. A beep will sound, and the two modes should be running simultaneously when you unlock your phone.
