She has gone on record recounting tales of phantom coffee machine noises, her dog constantly barking at something unseen, and a motion detector light that detects motion when there is nothing there.

Singer Ariana Grande discovered how creepy cemeteries are when she and her friends visited a graveyard in Kansas. Grande described to US Weekly an “overwhelming feeling of negativity “ as well as smelling sulfur (a key sign of demons). Before they left, Grande took a picture and was horrified to see three distinct faces in the image, all of them demonic in appearance.

In preparation for playing Princess Margaret on The Crown, Helena Bonham Carter enlisted a medium to commune with the deceased royal. The conversation gave a deeper insight into the woman who was particularly keen that Bonham Carter get the smoking right, advising “I smoked in a very particular way … the cigarette holder was as much a weapon for expression as it was for smoking. ”
Joan Rivers had her apartment cleansed by a Voodoo priestess
In 1988, Joan Rivers bought a fancy Manhattan apartment, but it was plagued with spooky happenings. Her dog refused to enter the home, the building was always cold, and it was impossible to get electrical appliances to work. Rivers eventually enlisted a voodoo priestess to cleanse the house, at which point things settled down and Rivers’ dog began entering the property.

In 2010, acclaimed director Peter Jackson shared with The Telegraph that one night he awoke to see a female figure. He described her face as being a “silent scream,” before she glided through a wall. There was a bizarre shower incident where Cyrus’ little sister was trapped under intensely hot water, and during another, Cyrus herself saw a small boy sitting in the bathroom. The singer has refused to stay in the property again.
Kesha has had intimate encounters with ghosts
Singer Kesha is so fascinated by the supernatural that she landed her own television series, Conjuring Kesha. The show had Kesha and the occasional celebrity pal exploring haunted places. Prior to that though, Kesha has gone on the record about her intimate encounters with ghosts. On Conan in 2012, she shared that a ghost had once caressed her in a very sensual way.

In 2014, Megan Fox talked to MTV about the time that she heard a ghost. Fox and her family were staying in a hotel suite, pre-ordered room-service breakfast for 7:30 am. At 7 am Fox heard someone in the living area pouring drinks and setting up the table. However, upon investigation, nothing was there, and breakfast arrived at 7:30 as requested.
Alice Cooper lived with a playful poltergeist
Alice Cooper and Aerosmith’s Joe Perry once moved in together to create some music. The house however, came with an unwanted ghostly extra. On Celebrity Ghost Stories, Cooper explained it as being a “playful poltergeist,” furniture was rearranged, and Cooper once felt a hand on his shoulder. The spirit was said to be that of a young boy who had drowned in a nearby lake.
Elton John was sat on by a ghost
It seems even the deceased are fans of Sir Elton John. During an interview with the Irish Times, John told of a terrifying incident in a Belgian hotel room, “I went to bed and felt something pressing down on my chest. I was too terrified to move. So, strictly speaking, I haven’t seen a ghost, but I have been sat on by one.”

Before becoming a reality TV star on The Hills, Audrina Patridge was the target of a vengeful spirit. As a child, Momsen went ghost hunting next-door after her neighbour passed away. Joe Jonas revealed the eerie happenings in his old house during an appearance on The Late Late Show. The musician shared he used to live in a haunted house with some friends. During his time there he would routinely get visits from the police investigating a call from inside the house asking for help. When they checked the landline, the phone was disconnected.

When pressed, the owners admitted that a couple had been murdered in the property.

Talking on Celebrity Ghost Stories, Michaels explained that one night when he was feeling low after a rehearsal, he noticed a strange glowing orb. Michaels interpreted the unexplainable orb as a sign to leave his sleepy town and pursue a career in rock.
Tiffany messed with The Satanic Bible
Pop star Tiffany may have become famous for her song I Think We’re Alone Now, but the singer also knows that humanity is not alone. As a teenager she and some girlfriends decided to read The Satanic Bible. Speaking with Celebrity Ghost Stories, Tiffany said that in the aftermath she could feel “a darkness, a heaviness, a presence…No place felt safe in that room.”
La Toya Jackson has felt the presence of her late brother
Michael Jackson died in 2009, but his sister, La Toya Jackson, still feels his presence in their Encino childhood home. She describes the sensation as feeling “something thick around you or behind you.” Jackson isn’t the only person to experience odd happenings; security guards have mentioned hearing the sounds of tap dancing coming from the late star’s bedroom.
Octavia Spencer has a ghostly roommate
In 2021, Academy Award winner Octavia Spencer shared with Ellen Degeneres that she shares her home with a ghost. Spencer believes the entity to be the spirit of an old Hollywood Western film star. Actress Laura Linney experienced a ghostly sighting at the famously haunted Belasco Theatre in New York. During dress rehearsal she noticed a blonde woman in a blue dress watching the show from an inaccessible upper balcony. She was later told that the ghost belonged to a chorus girl who had died at the venue and has attended every show’s dress rehearsal since.

Demi Lovato dedicated a song to a traumatized spirit
Demi Lovato has grown up with the supernatural. Her childhood home in Texas is haunted by a young girl named Emily; she also fronted her own show, Unidentified with Demi Lovato. During filming, one ghost would only communicate if no men were present. Lovato put this down to the ghost suffering trauma and sang her song Skyscraper in an attempt to comfort the spirit.
