Wedding Photographer Breaks Grooms Nose After Realising Bride Is Just 15 Years Old, Hailed A 'Hero'

Onur Albayrak is a Turkish wedding photographer who got into some seriously hot water after breaking the groom's nose at a wedding. But honestly, I'm not at all divided! Albayrak assaulted the groom after learning the bride was just 15 years old. So, let me just begin by saying, BRAVO Onur!

Onur had been hired to photograph a wedding at Turgut Özal Nature Park in the eastern Turkish province of Malatya. However, when he arrived, he was disturbed by how young the bride looked.

Albayrak spoke to the Daily News saying;

"The groom had come to my studio some two weeks ago and was alone. I saw the bride for the first time at the wedding. She’s a child, and I felt her fear because she was trembling.”

He went on to say;

"A child bride means child abuse, and no force in the world can make me photograph a child as a bride,”

When Onur expressed his anger at the young bride's age he and the groom argued and Onur eventually broke his nose.

Now I NEVER encourage violence but on this very rare occasion, I have to say, nicely done

Laws in Turkey do stipulate that a person must be 18 years or older to be married so this was not only morally questionable but lawfully wrong as well!

Thank goodness people like Onur are ready and willing to intervene when they see injustice!

It would have have been very easy just to play along, we should celebrate his courage!

Sadly, no conclusion with regards to the fate of the young bride has been made public by Turkish news outlets.

It's reported that humans rights groups have expressed serious concerns of child marriage within the region, and so, sadly, the child brides fate may have continued despite Onur's intervention.

But at least he set an example to others, encouraging them not to be bystanders and drawing attention to a very sad reality.

Indeed, some took to Twitter to praise his actions.

Onur still continues his wedding photography and it is very beautiful!

Hopefully, every other guest at the wedding also took the opportunity to protest the age of the bride and the morality of the groom, but sadly, I doubt it.

Onur claims he does not regret his actions and nor should he! Although some may not see fifteen as a childish age it is still an extremely formative, naive phase of life and those older and wiser are cruel to take advantage.

I guess that's the sad world we live in, hey?

It just makes my blood boil that there are people out there who would do this, and think that it was acceptable?! Terrible also to think that there will be so many bystanders to these terrible events.

I tell you, if I'd been there the groom would have been getting a boot where the sun don't shine! And I absolutely never could have left that poor girl to such a terrible fate. Nobody at that age is able to properly commit to marriage.

Just let kids be kids, for goodness sake.

But what do you think? Would you have acted similarly to Onur? Or do you think the authorities need to take more action to prevent these awful marriages? Let me know in the comments below and be sure to share this with your friends and family so they can join in the discussion. AAx
