Quiz: Can You Guess The Real Names Of These Hollywood Movie Stars?

Let Our Expert Quiz Confirm It For You

The movies: just as they offer an escape from the drudgery and banality of everyday life for all us regular folk, they also offer an escape of sorts for those who go to work in them. There's something magical about being immortalised on film: the stars of screen are captured in their prime, at their most charismatic and capable, preserved forever to thrill generations of viewers to come.

It's no wonder, then, that in seeking to present the best possible version of themselves on the big screen, a great many actors choose to do so under a new name. Not everyone is blessed at birth with a moniker that radiates superstar iconography; many actors opt to ditch the handle their parents gave them, and present themselves to the world under a more stylish and more memorable name that's an easier sell than the one they were born with.

It's often fascinating to learn the real names of the biggest movie stars. Sometimes, the pseudonym that actors choose is only a slight variation on the name on their birth certificate. In other instances, their real name is so radically different that you never would have had the slightest clue.

Do you think you can correctly identify what some of the biggest names in the movies are called in real life? If you fancy your chances, go ahead and take our quiz. We're sure that some of them will take you by surprise!

About Go Social

Founded in 2016, Go Social started small. Beginning as a blog posting on 80s and 90s life as well as the movies, music and television of the era, Eighties Kids has in a short space of time exploded in scope and ambition. Operating out of Eighties Kids HQ in sunny Ilkley, in the North of England, today a growing team of writers produces original content day in and day out for one of the best new nostalgia sites on the web.

With the site also growing beyond its original remit, the Go Social team now covers not just trivia from the 80s and 90s, but pop culture of all decades that’s of interest to children of the 80s, 90s and beyond. From shocking and obscure fact posts on your favourite movies and bands, to quizzes on classic TV shows and film franchises, to picture galleries on celebrities from past and present, Eighties Kids is here to take you down memory lane, test your knowledge of classic pop culture and maybe even occasionally blow your mind.
