An Instagram influencer couple (and I can’t believe that some people think that is a ‘real job’ in today’s society) have received a hurricane of negative feedback for setting up a GoFundMe page asking for strangers to donate $10, 000 so that they can go on a holiday, after a shocking confession that one of their moms tirelessly works two jobs to support them.
Catalin Onc (pictured above sporting the worst tattoos currently on the planet) and Elena Engelhardt (above), two German-born wastes of perfectly decent organs, have recently been at the centre of a severe social media backlash.
The controversy blew up after it was revealed that Catalin’s mother works TWO JOBS to support the pair, and when asked why they don’t get their own jobs to support their next holiday the pair said that it would be ‘detrimental’ to their lifestyle and so would ‘not be an option’.
Well, you know what? Welcome to the bleeding real world!
The idiotic pair’s GoFundMe page requests $10, 000 so they can ride a tandem bike from Germany to Africa. The funds will pay for insurance, accommodation, and I can only assume one hell of an expensive bike!
The couple also bleated on about how it’s a ‘celebration of life’ and how it’s got something to do with raising awareness of mental health without really explaining how.
I would link the GoFundMe page, but quite frankly, I don’t want to provide anyone with the opportunity to directly donate to these self-absorbed, foul, and morally bankrupt people (I’m also using the term ‘people’ loosely here as well, they come across more as cardboard cutouts representing the idea of superficiality).
If you do want to donate to the pair though, could someone please send him a shirt, the poor guy doesn’t seem to have one!
In response to them sharing their GoFundMe page, one brilliant person wrote on their Instagram page (which features a regular who’s who of brainless and tasteless cretins in their over-produced pretentious photographs):
‘Your mum works two jobs to pay for your trip, don’t you think that’s impacting her mental heath? It’s sad this isn’t all a joke, the self importance you have is ridiculous.’ – Preach it.
And another equally sane person pointed out, ‘Or, like, you know, get a job and pay for your little cycling trip yourself?’
However, this level of logic didn’t register on the Instagram couple’s intelligence level.
The couple responded to their ‘haters’ (and I assure you there are thankfully a growing number of us) with this earnest statement:
‘Some will just tell us to get jobs, like everyone else and stop begging. But when you have the impact we do on others’ life, getting a job is not an option.
‘We could model and make fast money, but we don’t want to advertise consumerism. A normal job at this point would be detrimental.’
It’s a real struggle to even type that out, and I am at a loss to accurately articulate in a succinct manner how repugnant I find these humans and how detrimental their lifestyle is to society.
Catalin thoughtfully explained how much his mother loves having no money herself and being worked to the bone to fund the idiot extravaganza of the century in this heartfelt statement on their social media page:
‘At this very moment, my mother is funding us, she works two jobs and has not much herself. We didn’t ask her for money but she loves that she is able to help.
‘Mum, I want you to know, that it is not only us but hundreds of others that benefit from your help.’
Look, playing devil’s advocate for a second, all parents do love being able to do great things for their kids – however, that shouldn’t mean that you Catalin are content to see your mother struggle through life while you do nothing!
Their lifestyle requires an unimaginable lack of thought for other people on the planet, the likes of which I don’t think I’ve seen before. Oh wait, no I have… every time I read something about an Instagram ‘influencer’!
The pair have decided to take a ‘break’ from social media thank God. With Catalin posting a photo with the most pompous caption you could imagine:
‘And with this post, I will step away from social media for a little while. I mentioned that I’ll be doing the hardest thing I’ve ever done mentally and physically, soon.
Here it is.
I am going on a walk.
I will walk as long as I possibly can.
No social media,
Instagram is full of entitled, over-privileged, narcissistic millennials who parade their lavish lifestyles all over social media, all while whinging about the world’s woes but doing nothing to help.
And, if you’re reading that and thinking, ‘hey, that’s me!’ then congratulations, you’re qualified to become an ‘influencer’ and I can add you to the big book of people who irritate me… and that’s a big book.
