Ricky Gervais Brands Disgraceful Men Smashing Cake On Pet Lion 'Dirty Worthless Filth'

Comedian and animal rights activist Ricky Gervais has publically slammed a group of men who shamelessly hit a lion being held captive in the face with a birthday cake.

The video was initially posted to the Instagram page of Blend Brifkani (pictured above holding the cake) and has since been taken down; however, not before causing widespread controversy with the likes of Ricky Gervais slamming the group of men.

The video shows Blend Brifkani celebrating his birthday with the lion that he keeps in captivity (presumably for his own amusement) and several other men, only for Brifkani to slam the cake into the face of the unsuspecting lion causing it to leap around and scratch at its face in an attempt to get the food from its face.

The environment is clearly not one that a lion should be in under any circumstances as it already appears distressed due to the massive amounts of people and flashing lights present at Brifkani's birthday party.

Brifkani is reportedly a head of the Kurdish American Cooperation Organisation and a 'wealthy singer-turned-activist'.

His Instagram page contains many photos of him posing with his pet lion called 'Leo', which he loves so much that he had declawed them, parades him around like an object, and hits him with cakes. What a freakin' lovely man!

You don't have to spend long on Brifkani's Instagram page to realise that he is a delusional, thick-headed man with little to no idea of what animals really need.

He posted another video in the caption of which he apologises for throwing the cake in Leo's face:

'I have never intentionally intended to abuse Leo, moreover, I would never want to hurt him in any way.

'I admit, it was wrong for throwing a cake on the lions face, I have let my emotions of excitement take over me and I apologize to those whom I have offended.'

He ends his apology by saying, 'I assure you that Leo is safe and will soon return to the wild.'

However, Leo has lived in captivity his whole life and, according to reports, has been declawed - either of which alone would mean that he will now be unable to survive in the wild.

Brifkani hides behind his claims of being an animal activist, as one of his organizations has a yearly initiative which involves 'releasing captivated wild bears into the mountains, where they belong.'

However, looking through the Instagram page, all that you see is a man shamelessly using an innocent wild animal as a status symbol.

Leo the lion looks constantly bewildered in the videos, and Brifkani pushing a cake in his reluctant pets face on camera for his party's entertainment typifies their relationship.

Ricky Gervais took to Twitter in response to the video, simply calling the men, 'Dirty, worthless filth.'

Other comments from the public are just as upset y the video:

'How much abuse has this lion been exposed to in order for it to not act on instinct and maul the entire lot? I’ve lost all faith in the human race.' BlueFishGirl17

'Makes me sick to my stomach. If the animal attacked them it would be put down. Where is the justice??' - MissD_02

I can't imagine what would make a person think that it is okay to keep a beautiful wild animal in captivity like that, and treat it like a stuffed animal to be wheeled out in a sad effort to make people respect you. It's disgraceful and he should be freakin' ashamed of himself.

I can't believe that there are still people in the world who think it's okay to treat animals like this! Let me know what you make of this story in the comments below! AAx
