Apple cider

When the weather turns brisk and the leaves start to change, it means one thing: fall has arrived. It’s a time for sweaters, hot cocoa, pumpkin-flavored everything, and most importantly, apple cider. But when fall passes and winter approaches, many of our local grocery stores stop carrying it. Which is a shame, as it’s packed full of health and beauty benefits.

Halloween decorations

We love the spooky holiday, and we wish there were more Halloween-y things out and about all year long! We love decorating our home and office with Halloween paraphernalia during October and early November, but once the holiday is over, it seems like everything disappears until next year. Who says you can’t have a jack-o-lantern outside all year long?

Pumpkin spice lattes

Not only do pumpkin spice lattes seem like something that should be available year-round, but they’re just so darn delicious, it’s a shame to limit them to just one season. They’re the perfect pick-me-up when it’s cold outside and help us get through our morning commutes. Sure, they might be basic, but that doesn’t stop them from tasting great.

Candy corn

Love it or hate it, candy corn is another fun addition to your Halloween party or treat bag – but it’s not something that you can find at any other time of year. Typically, candy corn is only sold around Halloween time. This treat is fun to eat but disappears too quickly from store shelves. All year round means more candy corn for everyone!

Candy apples

Candied or caramel apples are another fall favorite that can be enjoyed at any time of year – but they just feel so right when it’s actually fall! These sweet treats make excellent party favors or gifts when wrapped up in cellophane bags with colorful ribbons attached to each one… and they’re even more fun when you decorate your own apple with melted chocolate and sprinkles!

Christmas lights

These lights are perfect for people who love the holiday season but don’t want to take down their decorations once the holidays are over. And since many of these lights can change colors, they also make it easy to enjoy them from Halloween through New Year’s Eve.

Eggnog

Eggnog is one of those seasonal products that we always enjoy and love, but only makes an appearance a few months out of the year. There’s something magical about eggnog, with its rich creaminess, a hint of cinnamon and nutmeg spices, and the way it reminds us of Christmas. It’s as if Christmas is going to be a non-stop party from December until January.

Pumpkin pie

Pumpkin pie is such a classic Thanksgiving or Halloween dessert, but it’s not available during the rest of the year, so you often have to settle for some less-than-ideal alternative. We’d like to bring attention to the fact that pumpkin pie is delicious even when it’s not part of a holiday meal and should be available year-round!

Raspberry lemonade

This summertime favorite is perfect for cooling down after a long day in the sun. It’s tart and sweet, like a sour candy, but slightly more refreshing, which makes it the perfect beverage for a day at the beach or an evening by a bonfire. The only thing that could make it better is if it were available in supermarkets year-round.

Easter eggs

With their vibrant colors, cute designs, and sometimes even more candy inside, Easter eggs are one of the most fun parts of Easter. Since we know how great they are during the spring season, it would be awesome if we could get them into our lives year-round. While we wait for that to happen, we’ll just have to savor the moments during which they’re available in stores.

Pumpkin pie ice cream

Pumpkin pie ice cream has been around for decades, but it still hasn’t lost its appeal among ice cream lovers all over the world. Whether you like it plain or topped with whipped cream or nuts, pumpkin pie ice cream is a must-have in your freezer during fall and winter months – but logically, it should surely be a summer go-to.

Candy canes

It might not be Christmas without candy canes! They’re delicious, they’re red and white (the colors of Christmas), and they make your mouth tingle with a festive mint feeling. There really isn’t anything else to say about these sweet treats except that they’re super tasty and totally worth stocking up on so you can enjoy them year-round.

Mince pies

We love the holiday season and all of its delicious seasonal products, but there’s one treat we wish would make more frequent appearances in our pantries: mince pies. The smell of cinnamon, nutmeg, and apples fills our kitchens once a year in the form of these little pastry pies. They’re even better when they’re made from scratch – which you actually can do at any time in the year!

Peppermint bark

Peppermint bark is one of the best seasonal products that we wish were available all year round. The thin layer of dark chocolate covering a crunchy layer of white chocolate and topped with a few shards of candy cane is the perfect dessert or treat to share with friends and family during the holidays. It’s surprising that peppermint bark is not widely available – it’s actually very easy to make!

Gourds

Gourds are incredibly versatile. They add a festive flair to fall décor, and they’re perfect for DIY projects like wreaths, centerpieces, and other decorations. They’re also versatile enough to be used as birdhouses and candle holders. The thing is, despite these great uses, most people don’t think of keeping a gourd around long after the season has passed.

Spring flowers

If you have a green thumb, then you know how much fun it is to plant flowers each spring and watch them grow over time into beautiful blooms. Unfortunately, there aren’t many flowers available during the winter months that can be planted so fresh flowers are limited to what stores have in stock at any given time.

Mulled wine

Mulled wine will make you feel as though you’re by a crackling fireplace in your favorite sweater. And it would be perfect for that … if it were available during any other time of year. It’s not, which is why we wish mulled wine was an item that we could pick up at our local grocery store anytime we wanted to add some holiday spice to our life.

Summer squash

Summer squash is at its peak during the summer months, but it’s not something that you can buy all year long. These vegetables are ideal for grilling or roasting because they taste delicious when cooked over high heat. You can also use them inside dishes like risotto or rice pilafs.

Peaches

Peaches are one of those fruits that people just love during the summer months because they’re so sweet and juicy – plus they have a short shelf life so they’re only available during certain times of year (usually July through September). You can buy them out of season, but they’re not quite the same.

Gingerbread

It’s no secret that we’re big fans of gingerbread cookies. They’re one of our favorite seasonal treats, and we’d be lying if we said that they don’t taste even better when fresh from the oven around the holidays. But what we don’t like about gingerbread is that it’s only available for a very short time in December.

Sweet potatoes

Sweet potatoes are a fall staple and one of the most delicious foods of the season. But they’re only available fresh for a few weeks each year, making them hard to find in grocery stores and even harder to enjoy on your own time (unless you’re willing to buy a whole bag of them). After you’ve gone sweet, a normal spud just won’t cut it anymore.

Cranberry sauce

Cranberry season lasts from September to December, so if you haven’t tried cranberry sauce yet, now is the perfect time! Cranberries are an excellent source of vitamin C and fiber, so they can help maintain healthy eyesight and aid digestion. They also make a perfect pairing with Thanksgiving turkey, Christmas turkey, festive season leftover turkey…you get the picture

Freshly picked apples

Apple picking is a tradition that takes place every fall at orchards across North America. During apple season, which usually runs from mid-August to early November, it is possible for you to not only pick apples fresh off the tree, but also to taste test them immediately and buy them right there on the spot. You can of course buy apples at any time in the year – but they’re never quite the same,

Pecan pie

The best part about pecan pie is that it doesn’t have to be relegated to just one season – you can enjoy it any day of the year! It’s so rich and nutty with a luscious, buttery custard that when you bite into it, it’s like eating a little piece of heaven.

Christmas trees

These are one of the most popular and well-known seasonal products. There are many different kinds, including artificial and real trees. Some people prefer fake trees because they are easier to take care of and don’t smell like pine needles when they start to dry out. Others prefer real trees because they look better and smell better than artificial ones. Whatever you like, we can all agree they should be a year-round thing.

Creamed corn

This dish is full of creamy goodness and is perfect with chicken, steak or pork chops. In the summer, it’s a great side dish to bring along to parties or potlucks, and in the fall, it can be paired with a Thanksgiving dinner. Fresh out of season, however, it can be tough to find a good replacement for creamed corn.

Hot cocoa

At this time of year especially, it’s easy to get caught up in all the wintertime comforts of cocoa: the warm steam rising from a mug, the rich smell that fills your nose and steams up your glasses as you take a sip, and most importantly, the delicious velvety taste. When winter hits, hot cocoa is a staple in most households, but consider bringing it back for a chilly summer evening.

Cinnamon rolls

A lot of bakeries make cinnamon rolls in the fall, but only as a special or seasonal offering. Only a few make them all year round. As winter weather starts to set in, it’s hard not to crave a cinnamon roll. They’re warm and satisfying, they bring back memories of holidays past, and they’re just plain delicious.

Candy cane Oreos

If you like Oreos but prefer a minty snack over chocolate, these Candy Cane Oreos are for you! They come in red packaging with white stripes just like the classic candy cane, which makes them perfect for Christmas time. These seasonal Oreos are only available in October, but they’re so tasty that we don’t want to wait until then to get our hands on them again.

Pumpkin Cheesecake

This delicious Trader Joe’s cheesecake is only sold in the fall, and it’s so popular that stores often sell out before Thanksgiving arrives. We know Trader Joe’s sells other pies (and other holiday desserts), but this one is by far our favorite.

Santa hats

Santa hats are the perfect accessory for the holiday season, not too over-the-top but festive enough to really get people into the holiday spirit. They’re also perfect for any occasion where you need something festive to wear on your head (like concerts or parties). If only they weren’t only sold during December.

Holiday gift sets

We love getting gift sets for the holidays because they make it easy to give someone a whole bunch of different items in one neat little package (and they don’t take up too much space). We wish these would be available all year round because they’d make gift-giving a lot less time-consuming.

Seasonal candles

If you’re a candle lover, then you know that fall and winter are the best seasons for candles. Nothing says “fall” like the smell of pumpkin spice and cinnamon. But what if you want to fill your home with those scents in the summer?

Corn dogs

Corn dogs are another great summer treat that’s hard to find any other time of year – unless you go to a fair or carnival, that is! Corn dogs are delicious deep-fried hot dogs wrapped in cornbread batter and served on a stick so they’re easy to eat while walking around.

Apple cider donuts

Apple cider donuts are the ultimate fall treat! They’re delicious and sweet with just the right amount of cinnamon spice. We love them so much that we’d eat them every day if we could, but unfortunately, they disappear from stores once October hits. We can’t wait for them to return in the fall so we can enjoy one (or two!) again!

Pumpkin Pie Spice Seasoning

Pumpkin spice seasonings are perfect for adding flair to your favorite foods like cookies, cakes and even ice cream! But once Halloween passes, this delicious flavor disappears from shelves until next year when it returns again just in time for Thanksgiving. If you’re an avid baker, you probably wish you could pick up this seasoning all year round.

Christmas cookies

Christmas cookies are a perennial favorite of the holiday season. It is hard to imagine the holidays without them, and yet it is hard to find good ones outside of the holiday season. It’s almost as if they only exist for one month out of the year, and yet we can’t get enough!

Peppermint Mocha

The cool, refreshing taste of peppermint is a great way to kick off the holiday season, and the delicious combination of hot chocolate and espresso on a cool day is hard to beat. These drinks are amazing during the holidays and even better when you have a cold or sore throat. It would be nice if we could get one anytime we wanted!

Valentine’s Day chocolate

Valentine’s Day is another holiday we love (and hate). While the heart-shaped boxes are adorable, the real attraction is the variety of shapes and flavors. However, Valentine’s Day is short and sweet, so chocolate manufacturers keep the shelf stocked with only a few of their most popular.

Peeps

Peeps, the melt-in-your-mouth marshmallow treats that are ubiquitous around Easter, are some of our favorite seasonal products. Their appeal and delicious flavor make them something that shouldn’t only be associated with one holiday. It’s true that we all have our preferences when it comes to the different flavors of Peeps, but even the ones you’re not so fond of have their uses!
