Anaemia is a very common condition in which the body does not have enough iron, leading to a variety of symptoms visible in the hands. For example, brown spots on the back of the hands, when seen in young people, are a sign that they need to eat more iron-rich foods, as are spoon nails, where the nail grows away from the skin.
